For the adventure lovers, this 7-day trek to the M'goun Massif is the perfect escape from busy life. A hidden gem in Morocco, the M'goun Massif is one of the most popular trekking areas . Located in this UNESCO GeoPark is Jebel M’Goun, the second highest peak in North Africa and one of Morocco’s sacred mountains. Formed of largely eroded sandstone and limestone, it is dramatically beautiful, with more vegetation than other ranges in the area.
Discover dinosaur footprints which date back to the Jurassic period whilst trekking along deep, colorful and dramatic gorges which separate high and thrilling ridges and escarpments.
In the M'goun Massif trekkers can walk through violently cut gorges, barren slopes of scree and forested valleys and visit remarkably unspoilt Berber villages. Be prepared that this can be a tough walking experience, through remote mountains, please come prepared.

Meet you at the airport and drop you off at your accommodation.
Day 2 - Marrakech / Ait Bougmez Valley (1,800m)
Transfer to Ait Bougmez by minibus or 4 x 4 or Taxi, lunch in Azilal. We continue driving to Ait Bougmez Valley. Meet our team muleteers and cooker at the Gîte. Overnight in Gîte in Tilit village.
Duration: 5 hours’ drive
Day 3 - Timit / Tizi n’ait Imi (2,900m) / Tighremt N’Ait Hmed (2,200m)
We start early in the morning at 8 am to avoid walking in the sun. We begin our day with a long easy ascent to Ait Imi pass, lunch on the pass with splendid views of the Happy Valley and the M’goun Massif. In the afternoon a long descent on an easy trail takes us to the Ouzighimt Valley. We end the day at Tighremt Ait Ahmed (2,200m), an old granary used by desert caravans. Camp near Oulilimt River.

Day 4 - Tighremt N’Ait Hamed (2,200m) / Valley Ouzighimt / Imi-n-Irkt (2,000m)
After the physical effort of the 2nd day, today we enjoy easy walk along the wonderful Ouzighimt Valley, passing through Berber villages El Morabitine, Ighrem Izderne, Wawchki. We meet the inhabitants of the Valley and see local women with hairstyles and costumes unique in the Central High atlas. Overnight in tents.

Day 5 - Imi-n-Irkt (2,000m) / M’goun Gorges (Achabou) / Aguerzaga (1,700m)
We start about 8 am in the morning. We wear sandals to walk in water, following an alternative passage called Achabou. We walk through the beautiful and spectacular gorges which are only 2 meter wide and have cliffs of 600 meter high, Lunch at the exit of the Gorges. We continue walking in water to the camp in front of Aguerzaga village near the river.
Duration: 6 hours walking
Day 6 - Aguerzaka (1,700m) / Roses Valley / Bou Trar (1,400m)
We continue walking in the M’goun River to the village of Bou Trarar, passing through cultivated terraces with fruit trees, almond trees and roses. Roses are picked in April and May, and the feast of roses is held in the 1st week of May. We are in the heart of the Rose Valley. Overnight in Gîte.
Duration: 6 hours walking
Day 7 - Bou Trar (1,400m) / Kelaa Mgouna / Ouarzazate / Tichka pass / Marrakech
Depart at 8 am after breakfast. Drive back to Marrakech by the route of the Dades, the Road of One Thousand Kasbah. Lunch just after Tichka pass, the highest road pass in Morocco. Back to your hotel. You can enjoy the rest of the day by visiting the souk, monuments and historic gardens in the Red City.
